Reviving Retreats with Savse smoothies & Urban Curiosity

Imagine four days to focus on nothing and no-one except you and your desires.

Give yourself permission to not be in charge.

Reclaim time for thinking, napping and dreaming.

Leave routine, ruts and responsibilities behind.

See things differently.

This is your antidote to life in the fast lane. Are you coming?

London, England from Friday 9 - Monday 12 June 2017.

The Hoxton Hotel, Holborn is the perfect base from which to explore the Big Smoke. It's got a buzzy vibe downstairs and cleverly designed bedrooms upstairs that have everything you need.

YOUR retreat is about REST AND opening up to possibility

Focus on how your body feels and what messages it wants to tell you, if only you'd stop long enough to listen.

Let's explore London: the hidden pockets and obvious places that never cease to delight. Find inspiration in the cityscape and discover hidden places of tranquility and nature.

This retreat was exactly what I needed to avoid burnout and press the reset button. Clare created a no pressure environment and I had the absolute pleasure to connect with ladies who I now consider friends.
— Aimee DuFresne, author and coach
This is one hotel where you might well want to hang out. Hip and fun - it’s a great place to hang your hat in central London.

Food & Drink

Nourish your body and fuel your creativity with delicious meals. Enjoy an opening dinner at Vanilla Black, one of the London's most innovative vegetarian restaurants. Brunch on avo toast and great coffee at the Holborn Grind or go for the Full English at Hubbard & Bell.

Leave room to take tea. A traditional afternoon tea with silver teapots, fancy stacks of scrumptious delights and all the fanfare at The Delaunay. And champers, oh yes.

Our farewell meal will take place at Nopi. It will be a feast of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian ingredients and influences. Heavenly!

You can be as clean-eating or indulgent as you like. THIS IS YOUR RETREAT.

Relax and reconnect to your inner self and your surroundings. SPACE TO SIMPLY BE.

Spa Experience

Leave Covent Garden to the tourists and step into the sanctuary of The Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa just down the road from our hotel. Take your pick from hair, nails, facial, or body treatment and forget you're in the middle of a frenetic city thanks to the spacious interior and the calming vibe.

The Aveda holistic style to treatments blends a Western approach with ancient Eastern traditions - the perfect way to embody this brand that's all about: 'connecting beauty, environment, and well-being'. Leave with that zen feeling you crave.

Hello. I'm Clare Barry. I'm a Londoner, anti-burnout expert and the founder of Urban Curiosity.

A Reviving Retreat is the kind I needed back when I climbed the career ladder by day, wrote novels by night and had a one-way ticket to burnout.

If you're tired and craving a distraction-free break to focus on just you, this escape is what you need. Let me show you all my favourite secret spots where the calmer pace allows the cityscape to reveal itself.

Find peace and inspiration in the heart of the city.

Return home rested and revived. I can't wait to meet you in London.

How we'll spend our time together

Morning workshops, long lunches + plenty of free time for naps and massages

Find out what “mindfulness” actually means, and how mindfulness can shift your mood and boost your creativity and productivity (without throwing your computer into the bin or meditate on top of a mountain!

Discover how to create a more balanced relationship with technology, so that technology becomes a helpful tool, not a perpetual distraction and energy-drain.

Best of all, we'll explore how to listen to our intuition and reclaim time and headspace for the priorities that truly matter so that you can achieve more in less time, but without burning yourself into the ground.

Whether you consider yourself creative or not, discover the pleasure that comes from doodling, dipping brushes in vibrant ink pots, tearing images out of magazines, folding thick paper, daubing the page with stamps covered in rainbow inkpad.

Enjoy the delight of creative expression without any attachment to it being 'good'.

No sharing, no judgement - just dipping, stamping, cutting, glueing, dabbing, stippling? Oh! Yum yum yum. Plus, you'll create a tiny book by the end of your retreat, I'll show you how. It will be a memento and manifesto.

Alexandra Franzen is a writer based in Portland, Oregon. She is the author of 3 books and has been featured in over 6 others, including a bestselling guide to launching a creative business

She is going teach you how to create a tiny book. Alex defines this as "a short, self-published project - typically 20 - 70 pages - on any topic that feels meaningful and exciting to you. It could be a collection of true stories for your kids to read when they're older. It could be a family cookbook. It could be a "how to" e-book for your clients."

Alex loves showing people how to outline their book (and keep it simple!), how to brainstorm book title ideas, create time/space to work on it, and actually get it done!

Thank you for creating such a generous and warm welcoming space for us all. So much of what I realised that day is still sinking in for me – I feel like the curtain has been pulled back in so many ways. It was a privilege to get to know you.
