What's included in my Reviving Retreat?

FEE per person: £1,497

  • 3 nights sole occupancy accommodation in a Deluxe Sea View Room at The Cliff House Hotel
  • Access to The Well Spa facilities: swimming pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the bay, gym. Plus a 25 minute taster facial or neck, shoulder or back massage.
  • 1 yoga session, if you wish to participate.

NOTE: If you wish to share with a friend, contact us to find out about the reduced retreat fee. Email here.

  • 3 x breakfasts à la carte
  • Tea and coffee welcome upon arrival
  • 1 opening three-course Sunday lunch
  • 2 x three-course evening meals in the relaxing bar restaurant
  • 1 cocktail hour, mineral water and some wine with dinner
  • Three-course closing dinner.

NOTE: The Sunday lunch on our day of arrival will be taken later in the afternoon and it’s a three-course extravaganza! There are no lunches on other days because the breakfast at The Cliff House Hotel is ENORMOUS, trust me. It’ll keep you going for hours. And I don’t want to over-schedule our retreat, which might interrupt your snooze or swim or sea-gazing in the afternoons. We'll take dinner early; it is a hearty affair with creative flavour combinations and fresh local ingredients. However, if you are peckish between our late breakfast and early dinner, then feel free to order from the excellent room 24-hour service menu or take lunch in the bar restaurant but note that this cost is not included in your retreat fee.

  • Airport transfer from Cork Airport-Ardmore-Cork Airport to hotel.

  • 3 x wellness and creativity workshops with Clare Barry, host
  • All art supplies and notebook for use during the retreat
  • Guest expert workshop tbc
  • Goody bag with wellness, creativity and personal development yumminess
  • Complimentary access to the Urban Curiosity e-course (launching spring 2017).

NOT INCLUDED: mini bar items, optional gratuities, optional spa or beauty treatments, extra drinks, snacks or alcohol. Transfer to/from the hotel on alternative dates than the retreat start and end dates. Transfer from/to any location other than Cork airport.

Is this Reviving Retreat for you?

If you're feeling frazzled and/or overwhelmed, then this is for you. This is for women who want to feel more connected to themselves and the world around them. If you're craving some time out, good company and headspace to reflect on what really matters, then yes, this Reviving Retreat is what you need.

Here's the deal: your retreat will be a mix of quiet reflective moments, gentle group discussion during morning workshops plus relaxed mealtimes together. You have plenty of solo and/or chillout time in the afternoon and evenings in which to relish your escape from reality.

There will be no more than 10 women on this Reviving Retreat with Savse smoothies and Urban Curiosity.

Please make travel plans accordingly. Our first gathering will be at 4pm on the Sunday. I recommend you arrive earlier than this to get settled into your hotel room.

We will say goodbye around noon on Wednesday and your airport transfer, if required, will be ready then.

The hotel and I will do our utmost make sure your gluten or dairy-free and vegetarian needs are met.

If you are vegan or require a raw food diet, please contact Clare before registering because this may not be the right retreat for you.

No, the vibe here is casual.

I'll send you a list of things to bring but in essence you need swimming togs for the spa, warm comfortable clothing and footwear for our jaunts in the local area and something ritzier for our closing dinner.

The hotel provides wellies and rain macs for guests.

Workshop Content and Facilitators

Don’t worry. The creativity session is very light touch, playful and, to be honest, totally optional. If you carry the scars of Mrs Smith’s acerbic words about your (lack of) artistic talents when you were eight, then know this: mucking about with ink, pencils, watercolours, paper folding, tearing, and scrunching feels delicious.

When you focus on the feeling of the doing it and not the outcome, then you are in flow and feeling free. That’s what these creative experiments are about.

We will do some walking at a slow pace along the cliff path and along the beach. The terrain of the cliff path can be uneven in places and the track is wide. We'll walk for no more than 10 minutes at a time during the 90 minute workshop.

If you are injured or extremely unfit, then you may want to skip these sessions. Contact me to discuss.

OK, enough of writing about myself in the third person. I will lead sessions using my Urban Curiosity applied mindfulness methodology. You will learn how to reframe your digital life and get clear on what matters to you in real life. You will experiment with vision-boarding and creative practices for wellbeing. And you will discover simple ways to get in touch with your inner wisdom and listen to your intuition in the day-to-day.

Literally straight after it [the workshop], I went across the road and bought a book to fill with the ideas that flowed as a result. The next few hours were spent happily writing away in a local park in my complete element.
— Natasha Blok, multi-sensory consultant
I recently returned to the UK after a stint working in LA and Clare helped me get clear about pursuing the kind of projects that I love. I enjoyed her thoughtful approach and feel more confident about my plans for the coming year.
— Chris Miller, filmmaker and television presenter
There’s a lot to be said for giving oneself “permission” to have time away from all the routines and technological noise of everyday life to explore the inner mind a bit. I can’t recommend this retreat highly enough to anybody who wants to take some time out.
— SZ, digital publisher
Many of our participants mentioned how Clare’s talk really resonated with them and their busy lives. Several of our attendees mentioned that they left the class feeling uplifted.

Having a social media meltdown? A digital burnout? One antidote is the new series of Urban Curiosity Walkshops. Hit the streets with pen and paper and, most importantly, your attention span.
— TimeOut London
Clare is such a creative dynamo. She has taught me to let go of my own control-freakery. Sometimes it takes me a while to admit that she is right (but she usually is).
